- To see if a wood would be a viable choice for a location to do our horror opening.
- To gain some filming experience.
- Establish any problems that may arise.
- Assess the availability of the location.
- To practice camera angles and the use of certain equipment.
- To see how well we work together as a team and if we are an efficient group.
- Slipping, tripping and falling over - Loose roots, slippery surfaces, walking into trees, exposed water - Watch where you are going and scout area for danger zones, also wear suitable footwear to prevent unnecessary slipping/tripping for example; wellington boots.
- Poisonous plants - Berries, mushrooms, poison ivy - Do not eat or touch anything you find in the woods, if for some reason we need to move things then use gloves and make sure we wash our hands afterwards.
- Getting lost - Walking off trail - Always notify your crew where you are and keep track on the map
- Weather - Rain on equipment - Use umbrella to protect equipment to prevent any damage
- We are going to Wilderness woods as a location recce, we have a few ideas of camera angles and techniques we want to execute:
- Tracking in and out
- High angle/ birds eye
- Crabbing
- Character blocking
- Last shot
- Establishing shot
