Strengths:
- Good storyline, with an unusual concept.
- Wide range of shots and angels, and good tracking shot at the beginning of the film.
- Establishing shots work well at the start.
- The extreme close-up shots are good, like the ECU of the meat cooking in the pan.
- The titles work well with the action - they're significant enough to be noticed, yet don't detract from the action on screen.
- Tension is built well at the ending towards the run up to the 'FLESH' title.
Weaknesses:
- Some unsubtle shots that detract from continuity, for example, the shot with the hat being taken off.
- The two different low angle shots of the feet going up the stairs at the start and end are unnecessary, and maybe we only need one shot of this.
- Too much noise when he starts to go down into the basement, with the close up on the newspaper.
F.O'C: Feedback
Strengths:
- The soundtrack works well
- Intercutting the newspaper wall with the kitchen scene was effective
- Very atmospheric going down into the basement
- Excellent range of shots
- Close ups of news paper walls are good
- Nice opening sequence & establishing shots
- Good lighting in the basement
- Great make-up on the victims
Weaknesses:
- The part with the chain rattle which leads Rob into the basement is unclear. A different sound was recommended.
- Some bits (towards the end of the kitchen scene and the middle of the basement scene) need more sound adding to them as they're rather quiet.
- Rob's voice echoes slightly on the close up of Kath's face.
